It's been a pleasure 🫡 this opening 3 weeks have been mad.
You should be loving these opening 3 weeks. Besides the Bills, the Vikings have been the best team in NFL. I don't expect that to last but you should relish this while you still can before the clock strikes midnight and Sam turns into a pumpkin.
Who knows, maybe he can keep it up. He said he learned a lot in SF working with Shanahan and Purdy and clearly KOC is doing an awesome job putting him in positions to succeed. It's interesting because Sam has always been a great first read QB it's when he has to go through his progressions that he gets into trouble and puts the ball in jeopardy. Having JJ as your first read makes things a lot easier because he is always open and having a power run game that opens the play action and check downs also helps him too.

I was really rooting for him in NY, but glad it's working out for him. Zach on the other hand can rot on the PS.

Tell us how you really feel about Zach attack. Haha

I hated the Sanchize too

Surrounded by talent I think he can succeed. I have been loving these last few weeks as a vikings fan these games have been awesome. Not barely squeaking a win, but just pure dominance on some top tier teams. It's very promising. I think so long as Sam is kept in a position to succeed he'll do so, he's got all the talent, there's a reason he was a top 3 pick, he just didn't have the right infrastructure around him.

I wouldn't say they dominated the 49ers but they outplayed them and outcoached them. If the 49ers knew how to play special teams and not leave a man unblocked on punts it might have been a different game.

Fred Warner being Fred Warner made that game look closer than it was. He's a future HoFer for sure, forcing the Aaron Jones goal line fumble stopped us being 3tds ahead. And all respect to Warner he had a game. Kittle got loose aswell, but aiyuk was taken away and mason didn't really get going. Flo managed to keep purdy flustered and disrupt the 9ers attack, making it so the defense had to work much harder, worse field position etc. 9ers are a top tier team in the league. To walk away with 2td lead (and could have been 3) goes to show, the vikings may have something special.

Total Yards 403 Vikings 396 49ers
Could make the same argument about JJ beating two guys for a 97 yard TD. Best in the league and future hall of famer. Sam still cooked when he went out. I am not saying it was all JJ but if you are going to say Fred Warner kept it from being lopsided you could also say JJ kept it from being a Vikings loss.
I mean the 49ers handed you guys a TD on a blocked punt and JJ made a fool out of Brown who was supposed to be the high safety and prevent that play. If Brown doesn't bite on the fake stop that's not even a completion let alone a TD.
Vikings deserved to win. They outplayed them but I think you are misremembering the game in thinking the Vikings utterly dominated.

I would also like to point out Mason had 100 yards, a TD and avg'd 5 yards a carry. You guys stuffed us on the 1.5 yard line which was huge and got the 97 yard touchdown right after. So both teams had a turnover at the goaline.
Hopefully the Vikings can keep it up and the 49ers can get healthy and sort out their D and Special Teams issues and we can do it again in January.

I find these points to be highly apt and well considered. Haha

You came with facts, I came with purple tinted glasses.
But I am confused, #699305 you said Flores dominated shanahan.
reply
I think game planning wise he did. They sacked Purdy 6 times. He was under pressure all game. They disguised coverages and blitzes. I think in terms of game planning and scheming he dominated Shanahan. I don't think the game overall was a domination but in terms of coaching KOC and Flores were way better than Shanahan and Sorenson.
Flores dominated Shanahan. That was a domination. And he proves he owns him again this week by doing the same to DeMeco who is a Shanahan disciple. I don't think Shanahan will learn his lesson. I want to see how that scheme holds up against a highly mobile QB.
reply
I think Flores is adaptable and changes his entire defensive approach for different QBs. So far you're right we've come across mostly pocket passers, and Danny dimes... Love is mobile but he's more a pure passer than Willis, so I think it depends which one of them plays as to what Flo will do.
