Any idiot can face a crisis; it's this day-to-day living that wears you out.
–Anton Chekhov
How true. A crisis is such that it demands action, some kind of intervention in a very timely manner to assuage the terrible feelings of helplessness and being out of control. Anyone can be blindsided by a crisis and you can never be completely prepared. Day to day we tend to be confronted by challenging or mundane things that can be irritating and also something that we can put off til tomorrow. And then by procrastinating, things can build up to a crisis. Sometimes procrastination occurs because we really don’t know what to do or how to do it. Day to day we tend to be more conscious of time. In a crisis, time gets to be suspended because everything that doesn’t have to do with the crisis falls by the wayside.
The Chinese characters for crisis represent danger and opportunity because dealing with a crises can make life better or worse.
Attitude makes a difference.
