Fun fact: do you know that bees steal hams? I used to think that bees were only interested in flowers...๐๐๐
They were stealing my hams the other day and cut the ham really fast ( look at the big hole!), then trying to balance the weight and flying away, really funny. ( after the first bee came, then he told his friends, so more bees were coming )
This is a wasp, looks like a German yellowjacket. Not sure where you are, but now in Europe adult wasps are essentially waiting for death to come, they are desperate and take any sugars they find and, apparently, ham too ๐คฃ
yes, the legs! But they look almost the same at first glance; little did I know I would get to learn the difference between bees and wasps by being wrong ๐ the internet is amazing:)!
Well, this doesnโt change the point of the fact that much, or? I mean, I donโt think itโs a funny fact anyway but then there are many others who may see it differently.
Vitamin D is not one chemical but many. The natural type is produced in the skin from a universally present form of cholesterol, 7-dehydrocholesterol. Sunlight is the key: Its ultraviolet B (UVB) energy converts the precursor to vitamin D3. In contrast, most dietary supplements are manufactured by exposing a plant sterol to ultraviolet energy, thus producing vitamin D2. Because their function is almost identical, D2 and D3 are lumped together under the name vitamin D โ but neither will function until the body works its magic (see figure).
The sun's energy turns a chemical in your skin into vitamin D3, which is carried to your liver and then your kidneys to transform it to active vitamin D.
The first stop is in the liver, where vitamin D picks up extra oxygen and hydrogen molecules to become 25-hydroxyvitamin D, or 25(OH)D. This is the chemical that doctors usually measure to diagnose vitamin D deficiencies. But although 25(OH)D is used for diagnosis, it can't function until it travels to the kidney. There it acquires a final pair of oxygen and hydrogen molecules to become 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D; scientists know this active form of the vitamin as 1,25(OH)2D, or calcitriol, but for ordinary folks the name vitamin D is accurate enough.
Truly a myth buster! I'm surprised. I used to think how dk they capture vitamin D in the tablets. It's more surprising because I had a deficiency since childhood my medicine included a lot of vitamin D and everyone suggested me to get it from the sun.
In Germany, prisoners who have escaped jail will not be charged any additional penalty for their escape.
This is because the German state acknowledges that it is simply human nature to want to be free. If a prisoner were to be punished for their escape it would be considered a violation of their human rights. However, due to the use of CCTV cameras, motion sensors, and barred windows, it is actually very difficult for German prisoners to escape in the first place.
I've often wondered how a litter of kittens look so strikingly different from each other. Perhaps this is the reason? I never knew this!
Because female cats release multiple eggs when they are in heat, they can become pregnant with kittens from more than one โfatherโ cat at the same time!
Humans have an entirely unique fingerprint for their tongue! Just like fingerprints, every personโs tongue print is different. Though itโs not commonly used for identification, the texture and pattern of each personโs tongue is distinct, making it a potential biometric identifier just like fingerprints or retinal scans.
Yup, September 26th.
Vitamin D does not come from the SUN. It comes from our skin.
What is vitamin D?
How your body makes vitamin D
One litter of kittens can have multiple โfatherโ cats.
Who can you deny
this fact even in fun?
