Sports Markets on Predyx

Yesterday, I tested out Predyx, the new prediction market that allows for betting with sats. It is still in beta, so there are bugs to work out but it looks pretty cool. Check it out, but again keep in mind it is only in Beta, so you may not want to bet too many of those hard earned sats. https://beta.predyx.com/

I was chatting with @mega_dreamer and suggested they add some more sports markets as currently they only have 2. Manchester City to win the Premier League and the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl. I suggested, with the MLB playoffs coming up, they add a few markets for some of the team's favoured to win the World Series.

Without inundating them with requests. What other sports markets do you think would be a good idea for Predyx to add? Maybe a few more super bowl options? UFC Main events? NBA championship? Stanley Cup?

What would be your number 1 desired sports outcome you would like to lose some sats betting on?

I think this is a bit different, but I just wish there were individual games to wager on. I want to bet lightning sats on essentially money line who will win/lose a matchup. Id prefer that over using draft kings or FanDuel. I personally am less interested in long term sports wagers like who will win super bowl or championships, I like adding a little more skin into the games I watch each and every week.

We do have plans to create markets for individual popular games at some point. But that's a far fetched goal. As you know, creating a market needs liquidity, being so early in the game we want to allocate liquidity wisely. However, if you have any particular individual upcoming games that you'd want us to create, I'll be happy to create numerous tiny markets with 10K sats liquidity or more if you need it.

It’s a dream go have them have all the offerings of a draft kings but keeping in mind that is a sports book while this is more a prediction market. Like will Josh Allen win the MVP

If you take the other side of a sure thing then you have the potential for a massive pay day. But I would like to see the following

Will Josh Allen win the regular season MVP?
With the LA dodgers win the 2024 World Series?
Will the New York Knicks with the 2024 NBA Finals?
Will the Edmonton oilers make the Stanley cup final?

I could go on and on but this is a good start

I think if they even just take the top 4 or 5 favourites in each league and make markets for if they will win the championship it would be great. MVP would be a good one too.

Not trying to shill here, but we also run a DraftKings money-line like betting on lightning. Again, its still in alpha. Look up "Triible". The reason I'm sharing this is we do have near real-time data of games and matches like timelines, match results, odds across 18 different sportsbook etc for almost all the major sports across the globe.

We just need to find a creative way of creating ephemeral markets without locking in our liquidity. If a user places a bet on an ephemeral market, then we add real time liquidity before the bet is placed. But for this we will need to build a complex automated liquidity management system, which will take us some time.

Have tried triible before but there seems to be an issue with both lightning login and credential login. My lightning wallet will show I am logged in but the site will just revert back to prompting for login.

I sent a message about the issue in the trollbox.

I think more Super Bowl options would be the most appealing option. For some reason, my lightning logon is taking me to different accounts when I do it from different devices.

I already locked in some nice wins on my bitcoin price predictions.

This is going to be a really fun site as it grows.

@grayruby First of all, thank you so much for sharing your fun experience with Predyx. We have a lot of bugs to zap, but we'll get there.

I'm taking notes of all the suggested markets, I will create is tonight.
