Stand With Crypto started out being a pretty decent advocacy group trying to put all the information about various officials standing with crypto in a central place but boy have they started to just drop the ball over and over again.
They had some pretty clear candidates to pick in these races and opting out of them shows they are not really that independent or have a true backbone. The Ohio race in particular has an enormous impact because the current Sen. Brown is a pretty significant barrier to any sort of crypto action refusing to have his Committee deal with it the subject at all. Then you have the whole VP Harris debacle from this week.
Stand With Crypto came under further scrutiny earlier this week, after it gave Kamala Harris a “B” rating for the Democratic presidential nominee’s first-ever recorded comments on digital assets. While the rating was lower than former president Donald Trump’s “A,” Trump has vigorously courted the industry for months, whereas Harris has only said two sentences on the subject in her entire political career. The group withdrew the rating following the uproar, changing her rating to "N/A" or "Not enough information." Executive Director Logan Dobson tweeted that that it will "now be more difficult for candidates to receive a scorecard grade—any grade, positive or negative."
Its wild to see the organization that a year ago seemed solid melt as soon as it mattered.
