I think I read he will be figuring out a muting function by the end of the week.
The end of the week could not come sooner..

I love SN it's real freedom of speach! oh but not if people say things I don't like :(

Who ever said that? I thought most people liked SN because it is a convenient nexus where Bitcoiners can share and talk about Bitcoin things. I have never heard of anyone being happy to come to SN as a haven for political displays.

Somehow people tend to think that freedom of speech means freedom to insult. He wants to say the N word? He gets what you deserve.
ALSO PSA It's 2022, stop trying to LARP as edgy thinking that the N word is cool

  • Freedom of speech is not the right to a megaphone.
  • Freedom of speech does not mean he has a right that I have to listen. I want to mute them and live on with my life

I think a better way to put this is "You have the right to speak and I have the right to avoid you" but the point is completely moot. Stacker News was not made to complain about the latest movie or some actor or some politician unless any of those media had something to do with Bitcoin's perception, legal implications, or really anything else related to Bitcoin.
I've described shitcoiners coming to Bitcoin spaces as being akin to hosting a book club to discuss a literary analysis of "The Mocking Bird" only to have someone join to discuss their self written erotic sonic fan fiction. That person has the right to create and discuss erotic sonic fan fiction with people sure, but the book club itself was established to discuss more serious literary analysis.
If a shitcoiner, in this context, is akin to a sonic erotic fan fiction writer, then this is akin to a KKK rally popping up in the middle of your book club. At least the sonic erotic fan fiction writer was still discussing written media, but this is just absolute disruptive ridiculousness and anyway this book club isn't happening in a publicly owned forum, but the owner of the book clubs house and they have the right to kick people out of their house.
