Are most people using one npub/nsec for all nostr tools? Or creating multiple ones, for multiple purposes?
I'm diving in again, and would also love some tips, after not having touched nostr in more than a year. Best tools? Strategies? Good videos?
Most people have 1 main npub that they use for all apps.
I'm enjoiying
  • Alby (Extension/Node Manager/Mobile app) - Signer
  • Primal (Desktop/Android/IOS) - Twitter replacement
  • Amber (Android) - Signer
  • Zap.store (Android) - app store replacement
  • Fountain (Android/IOS) - Spotify replacement
  • Wavlake (Desktop/Android/IOS) - Apple Music replacement
  • Oxchat (Android) - Telegram replacement
  • npub.pro (Desktop) - Nostr Blog
  • Amethyst (Android) Souped up Twitter replacement
  • Zap.stream (Desktop) live shows
  • Hivetalk (Desktop) Zoom replacement

It depends on what you're doing and who you are. If you want to maximize privacy:
  • segregate identities (npub/nsec) based what you're using them for
  • if you don't need a persistent identity for something, use an ephemeral one
Most mobile clients only support a single identity, so I tend use them with my main identity. For anything where I need a segregated id, I use it on the web with Alby.
