I don't understand how limiting mining to CPU or GPU mining helps against centralization.
I still can't mine monero with a profit without deep pockets and easy access to cheap electricity.
Isn't this a waste of energy? Denying people to be more efficient with ASICs?

And just how many people can afford an ASIC vs a CPU?

I would love to hear your opinion on my comment. Do you agree now or still disagree?

What does this change if I need to buy enough CPUs to make the same profit?
My understanding is mining profit depends on hash rate.
So it's just about how expensive getting your fraction of hash rate is. No?
The only argument I see is that the level of entry may be higher with ASICs, yes.
But you still need cheap energy
