My answer always to people saying, well can’t Bitcoin just be copied? Can’t you make infinite copies of the Bitcoin code? Can’t it be forked? Yes it can, and yes it has! Litecoin, dogecoin, BCH. But doesn’t mean I value them!
And that’s the power of Stacker News. Instead of proprietary and closed source, it draws us to it because it’s FOSS and we could see if there was any secret part of the algo suppressing users or posts.

For me, making a fork is just the first step in code development in support of @ek and @k00b work. I could then work on making code changes and test them myself prior to them being merged back into the Master branch. Unless you know we wanna test the changes LIVE! Ship it! Haha

I think this is a very special subset of a special subset of people. There aren't many true bitcoiners that are trading p2p v4v. This place is magical.
