I am not used to seeing a Hurricane form off the Mexican Coast between Texas and the Yucatan Peninsula and go East into Flordia but here we are. Current expectations are for this storm to make landfall midweek so its another one right after Helene. Thankfully current models have it just cutting across the State and then going into the Atlantic Ocean instead of moving north and hitting other areas that Helene just hit.
Currently, Tampa is dead in the middle of the cone and this area is cleaning up from Helene still but likely will dial that back some since they are going to get whacked again. Congress as of the end of last week was not expected to come back in for an emergency session to pass disaster funding for FEMA but if another major hurricane hits especially a state like Flordia depending on the damage maybe it will force their hand.

Fingers crossed it doesn’t get to Cat 3 or higher… given how fast they have strengthened that’s a worry I have right now
