Lifelong Panthers fan here. I wish there was such a thing as franchise bankruptcy. We would declare it.
I have never seen a team go into such significant draft capital and talent debt over a long period of time. Just desperate move after desperate move deeper and deeper into the hole. It's not just missing on draft picks. It's trading those away for short-term fixes, giving them a season to pan out, dumping them on the side of the road, just to try again. Meanwhile, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are balling out in other places.
We've refused to take our medicine for five years, and we have absolutely nothing to show for it. Add it all up and we've tried to replace the most athletic quarterback of all time (Cam) with the least athletic quarterback of all time (Bryce). Make it make sense.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we traded our mascot Sir Purr's costume and the naming rights to our stadium for a lukewarm bowl of macaroni and cheese. This team is going to be bad for a long, long time. We are fucked on a generational level.
As a Jets fan (we technically have Breece Hall thanks to the Darnold trade, even, though it took a few extra steps), I get it. I don't see our longest playoff drought ending this year, the way things are going, although it's a different kind of bad management decision (going all-in on a QB past his prime, and then making him happy by bringing in an OC who's just not good).

Have you noticed how we (Jets fan also) can pick a decent QB, then mentally harm him, release him and then he gets another life. We just lost to Darnold and Geno is still playing and having fun.... It ain't the players it seems... Aaron is still the goat, bring Davante already... We can buy the SB, LA Rams did it few years back... lol
