Biden canceled his planned trip to Germany to meet Zelensky (to which he invited world leaders himself, instead of letting Germany do it.. a testament to the roles shared between the two), in wake of the hurricane damange in the US.

Beside the fact that it is bad optics, especially before an election, to throw billions at a foreign war while the south looks a lot worse than Kiev, this is probably also a welcome chance to slowly start dropping the coke gnone.

Honestly I think Biden still should have gone after he sent the money. He isn't running for reelection and if we are being honest the recovery is going to be part of the next administration, not his. After the fumbled football with Helene, he might as well have just stuck with Ukraine. I expect we will see the other world leaders still go so he will send Sec. Austin and/or the General Charles Q. Brown Jr. to go in his place.
