The number of young men lacking viable opportunities is a very significant problem for them. My expectation is that they are aware of this problem and it will be part of the reason for top-down changes.
I haven't sensed any revolutionary spirit from the Chinese people I know.
Not sensing the spirit is a huge thing. However, I think that the population imbalance will be settled on the shores of Taiwan, the Philippines and other China Sea nations, no matter what we like. It is baked into the cake by the globalist hacks.

I hope not, but they certainly wouldn't be the first to solve an idle young men problem that way.
I'd say there's a decent chance they do something like the New Deal and deploy those idle young men on remote public works projects.

Yep, they could put them to work on the new Silk Road. There is a lot of work to be done on it, but, the locals don’t always appreciate having Chinese relocate to their country. Malaysia comes to mind, right off hand.

There's a lot of middle of nowhere to have them work, too.
