The corrupted, stinky spaghetti heap that WP is might finally blow up? Good news! ;-)
Won't be easy for devs of course, especially the monkey code variant (myself included), but at least now we might get a renewed focus on quality code serving websites...
Thanks for this, I'll read through most of your well informed posts, it will be very valuable for me to get insights into WP right now!
"...it looks like Mullenweg only wants true believers to contribute to WordPress. That seems like a terrible way to run a project."
This from one of your other posts is spot on! Long term this might lead to a better project if forks get managed well by new teams... Maybe a core WP of sorts?
That being said I think the whole CMS paradigm is failing, especially the way Wordpress is (not) managed now...
Drupal has its own problems around corporatism and wokeism of course!

Completely agree with your conclusion here: https://anderegg.ca/2024/09/26/wordpress-vs-wp-engine

Maybe you carelessly install applications, but always be careful not to get into trouble.

This is the main reason why I've never even registered an account with Wordpress, never paid for any plugin and never used WPEngine since their support started getting dicey for us ~2014...
If you can't trust all of your stack better choose something else!
