Welcome to the 33rd edition of The Daily Zap — A Daily Newspaper (Kind of 🙏). Here, you'll get links to all of the latest news and updates mostly from the last 24 hours, divided in Sections (much similar to pages on a newspaper).
Let's unfold!

~Bitcoin News of the Day

  • After losing the case against COPA (the Crypto Open Patient Alliance) this summer, Craig Wright has filed a new lawsuit, this time without any legal support or representation, against Bitcoin Core and founder of Twitter and the Square (NYSE:SQ) payments company Jack Dorsey.

Global Trade & ~Econ

  • With all major trading countries resorting to unilateral action to advance their own social, economic, environmental, and security goals, the world economy desperately needs a clear normative framework to determine the rules of the road.

~Politics_and_Law

  • While the cause of the postponement is reasonable, critics say Biden never really seemed keen on prioritising Africa in the first place, even as rival world powers like China and Russia aggressively expand their footprints on a continent they consider important for its significant natural resources, rapidly growing population, and sizeable voting bloc in the United Nations.

~Stacker_Sports News

  • Over time, especially after Liberty Media's takeover of Formula 1 in 2017, the sport steadily gained traction in the United States. A major catalyst for its growing popularity was the launch of Netflix's Drive to Survive docuseries in 2019. The show provided an exclusive look behind the scenes, revealing the intense politics, rivalries, and drama that unfold throughout an F1 season, capturing the interest of a broader American audience.

~Tech & ~Science

  • To capture carbon dioxide, Aerleum places the material into a sort of box that air can flow through. Once the material is saturated with carbon dioxide, the technology closes the box and starts pumping in hydrogen gas. The hydrogen then reacts with the carbon dioxide to produce gaseous methanol. The methanol is pumped out of the box and purified.

~History with Mystery

  • Thanks to advances in genome sequencing and data analysis, we know that some of the first humans to set foot in North America (known as Paleo-Americans) were direct descendants of ancient people in Siberia, which is solid evidence for the land bridge hypothesis.

~Entertainment World

  • In a statement posted to Riize’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) on Oct. 13, translated by Soompi, Wizard Production apologized to Briize (the official name for the group’s fan base) for “hurting” and “causing confusion” with their Oct. 11 announcement that Seunghan would be returning to the group. The quick reversal seemed to come as a surprise to the group’s fan base, with many of the post’s replies and reposts coming from seemingly shocked and upset fans.

Netflix's Drive to Survive docuseries
This is a must in our home every year when season starts. My daughters love it.

F1 is definitely much more popular in Europe than in America. We also have a liking for it. But I don't understand why extra adventurous Americans don't like it that much?

I believe there are some local motorsports such as Indycar and NASCAR which are more popular.
