Now, I'm here to create and publish content, and my goal is to make a living earning sats if humanly possible! #669330
I've always been in this intersection between new media tech and content, even since way before the internet. When it comes to digital tech in general I can get most things done, and if I choose the right toolset to sink some weeks into I can be a superuser, frontdev and maybe even go a bit deeper.
But that is not my aim, I'm here for tools that I can use to stay free & improbable!

Not reading instructions

For many years now I've had one principle that I have pushed hard: if I ever need to get into some shitty customer chat, or especially call anyone, then I ditch that service to find one that simply works
Likewise I'll always approach new tech without ever reading any manuals if possible. I'm interested in seeing how it does when I dumb myself down, that tells me a lot about future adoption, maturity and if I can trust the tool long term.
So what about getting wallets attached to SN? Should be easy? (There is no criticism or ill will here ofc)
Well I got it to work with a few wallets, but nothing worked out of the box for both receiving and sending... Does it have to be the same wallet? I guess I'll have to find out today...
What did work was consolidating what I had on Alby from Nostr and Phonenix from here into a tx into Cake. So now I can at least play around like a wrecking ball with all the wallets, with a tiny amount of sats as the only risk.
As a dumbed down end user I'd say that its far from bad now, the problem is that the number of wallets, terms and solutions is way too high, with no really easy, proven setup where all tiny misunderstandings possible is taken out of the GUI, and so on.
But its also not ready for prime time... I sure hope that the markets pushes the whole ecosystem hard the next months, so that its ready for the surge that is incoming!

A stellar future!

What did really make me conclude today that I did not waste my time yesterday is the impression and new take I got on the whole ecosystem, Nostr included.
Its vibrant, totally developing many of the platforms and tools that I've been missing, and the feel I got from it all reminds me of earlier adoption phases, maybe even weird shit like when you'd get magazines full of ringtone codes for your phone and so on ;-)
Some solutions have died of course, some were not online, and some have a few users only, but its all there! Even ways of publishing for sats has developed, not with the reach that Amazon has, but certainly something I can buidl on! (Will get around to Amazon later)
**Lightning as separate from Bitcoin
I get this weird feeling that I should maybe think of sats on Lightning as almost separate from Bitcoin. Maybe its the ecosystem, the experience, the possibilities that is behind this hunch?
Maybe sats on Lightning will be what really decides what will happen with onchain Bitcoin?
What if the adoption of Lightning does a 100x from here within a year? I mean, even shitcoins do that sorta stuff!
I'll think through these things today as a retrospect thing, then if things check out I'll spend some weeks really digging into it & getting up to scratch on everything Lightning myself :-)
Hell, I might even run a node! But in reality I don't think that will fit in with being a Rebel Nomad... Oh well, the Phoenix cli wallet looks great!
Its all out there, all the tools we ever need to buidl!
Take your time. If you rush into things it will be a disaster.

Disaster is what I'll seek haha!
I want to know how it will fail when I'm just pushing things through, like I did getting sats onchain yesterday. Its essential to get this take on it, since its an important part of my picture of how non-technical users will experience the ecosystem when they come rushing in...
For real holdings you're right of course... Next up after the wrecking phase will be to get used to keeping higher amounts in Lightning while not losing any of it!
