Here is a nice free E-guide on energy resilience by Honeywell.
(Disclaimer: I am a shareholder of Honeywell)
The guide discusses building energy resiliency for critical infrastructure during power outages.
Examples include hospitals, water and sewer treatment plants and the emergence of data centers.
For TL:DL folks this graphic gives six steps to consider when planning your energy needs for your infrastructure project
One thing I found interesting is the use of an energy management system (EMS) that takes inputs from the environment and draws the energy needed from either the grid or from onsite generation. I also like the idea of using excess energy to pump water to a higher elevation and when energy is needed the water can be released creating almost a standby micro hydro plant.
