I'm sorry but earning 0.00031 BTC for sending 1BTC to a custodian for even a split second isn't worth the risk of never seeing the coin again.
There has to be a better way to earn $6 instead of risking $20k.

Quite interesting indeed. Thanks for posting. IMHO I prefer to just go easy on my node, just going with the flow of the routing services, around 1% apy doing nothing, just using an auto rebalancer. My ideal is that LN will be a near 0 fee (< 10 PPM) network, where the world makes 10M tps, in a continous stream of money. I suppose due to the amount of HTLCs involved, millions of channels and routes will be required for it.

Seems like quite a bit of hassle. Move >1 BTC in and out every day for a year, you'll definitely get an audit or flagged by a state or agency somewhere. You make 0.11 BTC, have to pay tax, and then get audited.

Smart move from @dannydeezy. hope more folks experiment with more models to pay other nodes to provide liquidity for them. Right now most of those services are “pay for channel” inbound liquidity provisioning. Deezy is basically paying people to push liquidity to sources for him. Looking forward to seeing how this works medium-to-long term
