Construction of the $11 billion project ― the largest in Indiana history ― has been moving at a rapid pace since May with seven buildings already under construction on land just north of Indiana 2 at Larrison Boulevard and additional structures scheduled to get underway in the next several weeks, said Bill Schalliol, St. Joseph County’s executive director of economic development.
“And our investment in St. Joseph County is expected to add an estimated $4.7 billion into Indiana’s GDP,” said Kevin Miller, vice president of global data centers at AWS. “In addition to that, the investment is estimated to support an additional 3,000 full-time-equivalent jobs on annual basis in the broader community.
“And those jobs will include everything in the data center supply chain ― from electricians, mechanical workers, construction workers and fiber optic technicians,” Miller added.
From the farm to tech.
Wow! What a great advance in Indiana!! And what could be highlighted the most is the number of jobs that this project will generate... and also a transcendental change of farms to the technology of the future!!! Excellent 💪👌
