From The Dave Cullen Show
Talking about how Wesley Snipes may be the only Blade, after all.
I was excited when the new Blade project was announced, but now that the MCU has run out of steam, I'm fine with Snipes being the definitive cinematic Blade.
Is it better to scrap the reboot and perhaps just make another movie with Snipes playing an older Blade?
Wesley Snipes is who started the MCU. Everyone thinks its Iron man, but it isnt true.
reply
There was also the Hulk before Iron Man. They changed out the first actor for Ruffalo, what a mistake.
reply
I think The Hulk was after Iron Man.
reply
The one with Eric Bana was before, think, if you are talking movies.
reply
That's right, the Ang Lee one. I enjoyed that one more.
reply
Eric Bana made better Hulk/Banner than Ruffalo. It is hard to say which was better Bana or Norton, though.
reply
Since he appeared in Deadpool and Wolverine, that's canonically correct.
reply
Well, Marvel is desperate. But his movie was always part of the MCU, right?
reply
Not initially. They were planning on introducing Blade to the MCU with a different actor, but it looks like that project fell apart.
reply
Last time I checked, it was still happening. 2025?
reply
They just announced that it wouldn't be released in 2025.
reply
Thats a shame. Its been moved back so many times, it will probably just disappear. What other movies just disappeared out of Marvels lineup? I bet they are all in for that RDJ Doomsday movie.
reply
My guess is that they're going to wipe the slate clean and start fresh with RDJ again. They've lost so much money on all these newer projects.
Isn’t it amazing how many of these new projects at Marvel are falling apart lately?
reply
Really, I missed him then, Or, I wasn’t paying attention when he was there. When in the movie was Snipes appearing?
reply
You really must not have been paying attention.
reply
I think it would be an even greater success with Wesley Snipes at the helm, but the problem is for the future of the franchise. I think it's better to get the public used to a new Blade
reply
That's a good point, but there's no need to rush a change. If there's more demand for the original Blade than there is for a reboot, then make more of that franchise now and reboot it later.
reply
I think the question may be if Wesley Snipes will not age out of being able to do action movies. After all, Blade is nothing, if not ACTION.
reply
I agree... and Wesley Snipes is already 62 years old
reply
I guess it depends on what kind of shape he is in. He looks to be hale and hearty.
reply
Yes, he is still physically very strong, and I prefer him. The debate took place thinking about the longevity of the franchise, getting the public used to a new Blade
reply
Why do that when they have a perfectly good Blade still working? Pretty soon Blade starts looking like Spider-Man.
reply
Yes, as long as they don’t go woke with it. Fed up with movies with nothing but “The Message” blasting out from the screen. I have plenty of good movies from before 2010 to watch.
