Kind of funny that in 10 years the coffee robot is still more novelty than commonplace. And I'm surprised they let Baxter near them kids.
Somehow part of the product being served with coffee is the human presence. I never know who'll be working at the cafe, if it'll be busy, and how other customers will interact with them as well. The robot coffee also hasn't been as good but for the same quality I'd probably choose the human. Going out to get coffee after all is part entertainment.
It seems like a lot of people's concerns with AI are about others in the abstract rather in direct relation to their own lives. I see a lot of this pattern with other things as well where people are offended on behalf of the group that bears the virtual brunt.
Anyway I should get back to the AI mines...
