'The Astronaut' is a science-fiction comedy by little-known Canadian comedian Harland Williams, a comedian halfway between the gestural chaos of Jim Carrey and the compulsive pastiness of Michael Crawford in 'Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em', who was assigned the classic role of the clumsy character who becomes an unexpected hero. In this case, on the first manned mission to Mars by humans. Clearly aimed at an audience between children and pre-adolescents, 'The Astronaut' manages to arouse certain sympathies despite its limited ambition at times when it goes overboard beyond what Disney's rules of good conduct usually dictate, such as in the farts gag or the one in the toilet.
"Overboard with fart jokes"? No such thing!
The situation with the two astronauts being forced to share one central air hose between them, and one having chronic flatulence is peak comedy.
Maybe it just reminds me of the time I also have been tethered to another person with just a rubber hose. Haven't we all been there?

Certainly that's right, friend @VictorVonVodka
