When I realized that I couldn't change the system, I started fighting not to be changed by the system.
I am fighting to stay human.
And that's the ultimate political struggle: To be able to avoid the brutality of this era; to remain human with tenderness, with your own eyes.
Life is a gift given to us once.

Nothing is more human than harnessing brutality to conquer our environment.
Tenderness is for Neanderthals and other extinct/endangered species.

The evolution of reptilian to mammalian brains suggests that social behavior make a species more fit for the environment.

Interesting take as neanderthal is usually a pejorative for unintelligent brutes. They went extinct because their caloric needs were took high to sustain their population during the cool down. Homo sapiens survived because they were leaner, more intelligent, and more social.

I believe you mean psychopath. And Darwinian advantage implies progeny not just a 'successful career'.

Is it really possible to avoid the brutality of this era? Everywhere there is news of wars and deaths. By now we are all accustomed and indifferent to the suffering of others. However, I don't give up and I try to remain human and believe in the possibility that all humanity will come to its senses.
