That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:6
PRAYER OF THE DAY - John 3:6
O God, source of all life and light in the world, we come to You this new day with humility and gratitude in our hearts. As You taught us in John 3:6, we recognize that that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. We ask that You grant us the grace to be born again by the Holy Spirit, so that we may live in communion with You and experience the fullness of spiritual life.
Lord, we know that we are spiritual beings inhabiting earthly bodies. May we be renewed in our minds and hearts, allowing Your Holy Spirit to transform us into Your likeness. Enable us to live according to Your will, always seeking the things that are above and prioritizing the Kingdom of Heaven in all our actions.
Help us, O God, to leave behind the old ways of living marked by selfishness, pride, and sin. May we put off the old man and put on the new man, created in Your image in true righteousness and holiness. May each new day be an opportunity to grow in grace and knowledge of You, O Heavenly Father.
May the Holy Spirit work within us, enabling us to live lives that glorify Your holy name. May we be channels of love, peace, and hope in this needy world, reflecting Your light wherever we go. May our lives be a living testimony to the regenerating power of Your Spirit, drawing others closer to You.
Grant us, O God, the wisdom and discernment to understand the depth and truth of Your teachings. May we apply these truths in our daily lives, living in intimate communion with You and with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
In the name of Jesus Christ, who gave us life abundantly through His sacrifice on the cross, we pray.
Amen.
In this verse, Jesus is teaching Nicodemus about the necessity of the new spiritual birth in order to enter the Kingdom of God. He emphasizes that the natural birth is only physical, but the spiritual birth is necessary for eternal life. This highlights the importance of spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit in order to experience true life in God.
