Could the headline read: “Largest Heist in Modern History”? I guess the Labor Government doesn’t mind pauperizing the full population (minus the invaders, of course). Against all of the Election Promises this is what they do. When will the British people ever learn? They even had more choices than the US.

London | Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s new Labour government has set a course for the highest tax take in modern British history, as he gambles that he can get the economy and public services back on track before facing voters again in 2029.
The economy is opposite of public services. If the economy is good then public services are unnecessary. Public services use the incentive to manipulate Fiat currency to allow the government to front run price discovery. In the end the government must leverage the central bank to rent cheap money for expensive service. The eventually outcome is human casualties as humans are determined to be the expense preventing government ("steering the mind of people") from being effective.
This is why any government should be the device of noble men who have been chartered by merit to govern by the people who are noble in actions. In this case government is a lean device funded by grateful men who are the clans of nobles. Eventually, though, government becomes more important than the people and must be abolished by replacement of corrupt men with men of merit.
Currently this is impossible because the men of merit serve God and thus serve the people. Without the recognition that all belongs to God men resort to manipulating Fiat currency as they've declared their paper being valuable over the resources provided by God.
Bitcoin fixes this by creating a currency based solely on the use of energy for proof in work and a public ledger that shows who owns what work by public and private keys. Private keys never being part of the ledger but verified by the mathematics of God.
