When I first got into Bitcoin, I realized that every sat matters—and saving them can be easier than I thought. Here’s how I managed to save my first 10,000 sats, simply by making small changes to my daily habits. I’m sharing this in case it helps others who want to build up their stack without a major lifestyle change.
  1. Using Lightning-Powered Rewards The Habit: Every time I bought coffee or food, I checked for any Lightning rewards or cashback programs. Sats Saved: About 1,000 sats a week. Bonus Tip: Look for services like [insert a real Lightning rewards app here], which often have no minimum threshold for payout.
  2. Making Small Weekly Buys Instead of Monthly The Habit: Instead of setting aside a chunk of cash monthly, I used DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) weekly with just a small portion of my usual budget. Sats Saved: I gained about 2-3% more sats on average by spreading out my buys and avoiding FOMO during big price swings.
  3. Learning and Earning on Stacker News The Habit: Spending 10 minutes a day on Stacker News, reading posts and engaging. I also started posting helpful replies, which earned me a small amount of sats each week. Sats Saved: Around 300 sats a week, but it adds up!
I didn’t expect these little changes to make much of a difference, but by sticking to them, I was surprised by how fast the sats added up. If you’ve got any similar tips, I’d love to hear them. Every sat counts!
Good job. You spend a little more time on SN.
I stacked 73k sats this week on SN. Spent 40k sats. So net 33k.
