There are some differences between American and British English. I'd like to give some examples of where I think Americans are right in some aspects of its culture and education:
- jail > gaol
- eighth notes > quaver (music notation)
- pants > trousers
- YO-gurt > YOG-urt (yogurt)
Here are some that I think Americans are wrong:
- neesh > nitch (niech)
- celcius > fahrenheit
- aluMINium > aLUminum
- football > soccer
