There are some differences between American and British English. I'd like to give some examples of where I think Americans are right in some aspects of its culture and education:
  • jail > gaol
  • eighth notes > quaver (music notation)
  • pants > trousers
  • YO-gurt > YOG-urt (yogurt)
Here are some that I think Americans are wrong:
  • neesh > nitch (niech)
  • celcius > fahrenheit
  • aluMINium > aLUminum
  • football > soccer
