Howdy Cricket Lovers!
Very happy to announce that Stacker_sports Cricket Pool has got a sponsor in 'CriczZap' which is a brand to discuss Cricket on Stacker News. The brand has confirmed an undisclosed amount of Sats to the Cricket Pool depending upon how Stackers' endorse this.
I'm excited and looking forward to hearing from you all about CriczZap as a brand name.
The round one of Cricket Pool has just finished and it's time we have a look at the results of matches/pool questions and pool standings.
(I've decided to publish this post after every round of the pool to give you all a clear idea where you stand in the pool and form your strategy for the next round.)

The Results (Round 1)

Predict the winners

  • Winner: Newzealand.
  • Winner: England
  • Winner: USA
  • Winner: Australia

Predict for Extra Runs

Q.1. Will Virat Kohli Score a century in India vs Newzealand test?
  • No (He could only score 5 runs in both the innings and because of him India lost the match and been whitewashed in a test series at home in 50 years)
Q.2. Who'll win the toss in Pakistan and Australia game?
  • Australia won the toss and elected to field first. (Read the scorecard from the match link above)

Pool Standings

No stacker made a 'Jumbo Prediction (All 6 correct for 10 runs)' in this round but we had a 'Bingo Prediction' (5 correct for 6 runs)' by @User21000000. Congratulations to him. @TNStacker has to up his game definitely to remain competitive.

Important:

Stackers who have missed to participate in Round one can still join the pool in Round two at the loss of 1 wicket (you can only miss 2 rounds of pool monthly without being eliminated. After missing it for 3 rounds, you need to rebuy into the pool for 2000 sats)

Pool Prize (Breakdown)

  • For November: 13745 Sats
  • For 2024-2025 Session (Annual Rewards: Distributed on Halloween 2025): 103745 Sats

Edit/modification for this:

In case you miss to participate at least on 10 'I Predict Cricket' posts in a month, you'll be OUT from the yearly Cricket Pool rewards. (See Pool Announcement Post)
  • I apologise. This needs to be modified for I thought we could probably have 20 rounds every month. But it seems improbable and impractical, so this is altered with: In case you miss to participate at least 50% 'I Predict Cricket' posts (Pool Rounds where, for example, 4 is half of both 8th and 9th post and so on) in a month, you'll be OUT from the yearly Cricket Pool rewards.

How to play (To make it a bit more clear to understand)

  • It's simple. You need to make correct predictions about the various outcomes for which the 'I predict Cricket' posts ask you.
  • For 1 correct prediction, you get a single run (point) (1 run).
  • For two correct predictions, you get a double (2 runs)
  • For three correct predictions, you get a triple (3 runs) For 4 correct predictions, you get a boundry (4 runs)
  • For a 'Bingo Prediction' (5 correct Predictions), you get a sixer. (6 runs)
  • For a 'Jumbo Prediction' (All correct Predictions), you get a Sixer + a four. (10 runs)
  • For every wrong prediction, you get a dot ball (0 runs).
  • All of your accumulated runs are added together to your total score for monthly and annual rewards.
Thanks for playing.
The next round post is on its way. Stay awake and updated.

Nice recap. I can't believe India let me down.
I like the name but in my opinion it would be better without the extra z. I like CricZap. But maybe other stackers prefer it this way. Either way nice to see your brand growing on SN.
reply
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely give it a thought. I'm taking 'CrizZap' as brand for a future venture where I might be launching a website to P2P bet on Cricket with Sats.

Big week for the Anglosphere
reply
Why only for Anglosphere? Only @User21000000 has got a bingo and I don't know where he's from?
reply
I'm talking about the teams that won. My picks were inclined towards the sub-continent.
reply
Ahh that's my bad then. But you were technically right. England playing in West Indies against West Indies can lose any day and Nepal is surely a stronger team than USA.
reply
The total number of stackers playing here is 12 and 11 have scored. How it relates too much to Cricket's playing 11 with the 12th man who only comes on ground at the drinks time. Sorry @TNStacker. Wish you all the best for this round.
reply
Nice analogy!
reply
Well, I was hoping the US would win, but I didn't expect them to based on the previous game. I don't mind losing the run because of that!
