The more I watch this new format, the more I like it. Another week ends with big surprises after Real Madrid, Man City and Aston Villa lost their matches unexpectedly.
A new leader is commanding the table, Liverpool. They are not only at the top in the Premiership but also at European level. A 4-0 win over Leverkusen gives them credit and are getting closer to qualify straight to last 16 round.
On fire
As mentioned above, Liverpool is at the top, the 4th leader in 4 weeks. A group of 4 teams with 10 points follow close. Sporting , after beating Man City clearly , is second thanks to goal difference. Then Monaco and Brest are 3rd and 4th. Both French sides are a surprise, particularly Brest. This team is fighting against big multimillions euros sides and topping most of them. They have spent just 12m euros this year, so it would be a miracle if they could hold their position at the end of the regular phase. They have a tough match next week against Barcelona, one of the teams who are displaying best performances right now. Inter Milan closes this group, after beating Arsenal last night.
Next, you can find Barça, Dortmund and Aston Villa with 9 points.
Hot zone
Real Madrid, Bayern, Man City, Arsenal are in the middle of the table. They need to raise their game if they want to qualify straight to last 16. If not, they may end up playing two extra matches in february, which will increase load of matches over the roster.
Freezing cold
PSG is slowly falling. Yesterday, they lost their match in a last-minute goal against Atletico Madrid. It seems that they are missing Mbappé, and they are struggling to perform. Leipzig, Sturm Graz, Young Boys, Red Star and Slovan Bratislava are still pointless, after 4 weeks.
Stacker rankings
This week, @Carresan ended up at the top with 19 points. @suraz with 14 points was second and @TNStacker, with 13, was third. I would like to point out that @beorange was the only stacker to forecast an AC Milan win at the Bernabeu. He only missed the right result by one goal. Good job!
After 4 weeks, @Carresan is also commanding the table with 52 points, followed by @ChrisS, with 40 points. @grayruby and @undisciplined have 39 points each, in third place, after losing some pace this week. @TNSstacker follows them with 38 points.
