I just recently came across the movie, The World According to Garp (1982). I really liked it. It felt like an similar, kind of inverse story to Forest Gump (1994). I have seen Forest Gump many times and I consider it a good story and a decent pleasant movie. Both movies are about a boy's extraordinary journey into old age, centered around a missing father dynamic. While Garp is very bright, Forest is more simple. I really enjoyed Garp's story better once I saw the movie. I also love Robin Williams. Sorry Tom. Have you seen these movies. Do you see a connection. Which one did you prefer?

Both great films!

Never made this connection but yes. I find Garp more interesting as it all feels more natural versus Gump being more comically involved in more events.

I saw Forrest Gump multiple times, and loved the movie. I don't know about The World According to Garp though. Will try to find a copy and give it a watch. Thank you for sharing.
Forrest is spelled with 2 r's by the way, Forrest Gump.

I have seen the Forest Gump movie several times... firstly I think the story is very peculiar and original and secondly because Tom Hans plays his role very well... it is a wonderful story... I just need to see Garp's and be able to compare them properly!!
