Just an analogy I've been thinking about using to give a noob a very basic snap shot of what Bitcoin is. I'm interested to hear if you think it's good, or if you have a better one that you usually use.
Imagine you have 2 bottles. One of them is filled with 100% pure lemon juice (bitcoin). The other is cordial with a mix of 95% water and 5% lemon juice (your fiat currency).
The bottle of cordial will continue to add water. The pure lemon juice will continue to create as much cordial as you like.
Which one do you drink? (spend)
Which one do you keep? (save)

The analogy causes a bit of confusion in the last part, the bottle would have to be 100% pure and more water would be added to the 5% which means that the fiat money is diluted.

I like the melting ice cube analogy. The best analogies are usually visual.
