A NASA helicopter once took photographs of an ‘otherworldly’ wreckage on the surface of Mars - initially baffling scientists with its find.
The Ingenuity Helicopter was a small aircraft carried to the surface of Mars on the bottom of the NASA Perseverance rover in July 2020.
After being deployed for its first flight in April 2021, Ingenuity, nicknamed Ginny, completed 72 flights before engineers eventually retired it in January due to fault.

If your first thought was that the machine had stumbled upon undeniable proof of aliens then you’re mistaken, because the only beings involved in this mystery were the ones who sent Ingenuity up to Mars in the first place - us. The images show the debris of the landing equipment used when Ingenuity arrived on Mars with the Perseverance rover back in 2021.
Yeah, I was pulled in by the title, too. What malarkey. Otherworldly is a good description only if you don’t say we put it there.

Total click bait title. The wreckage didn't baffle anyone, it was simply debris from Ingenuity's landing equipment 🙄
