I know the media want to attribute that headline to climate change, but the main reason natural disasters are costing more is because people have built more expensive stuff in disaster zones.
Absolutely. I'm seeing multi storied brick buildings are being built regularly in the Himalayas nearby me. They are such a place where you can't be sure 100% for escaping a natural disaster. Previously people used to build houses of wood which was cheaper. Also I see people are now owning more vehicles in disaster prone area.
