Universities in the country divide their periods into semesters, four-month periods or trimesters. In addition, costs can be determined by credit units or by subjects enrolled by the student, so each charging system is different.
-Universidad Santa María:
The cost of pre-registration is set at 50 dollars for any of the available courses. Afterwards, the registration fee must be paid plus a first installment, which totals $300.
The monthly payments have an approximate price of $120, so the total cost of the semester would be between $780 and $930 for regular and new students, respectively.
In 2022, the semester was around $420, with an enrollment fee of $80 and monthly fees of $168
The USM offers the courses of Administration, Social Communication, Public Accounting, Economics, Law, Latin American Studies, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Systems, Civil, Industrial and Telecommunications engineering.
-Universidad Católica Andrés Bello:
The cost of the semester at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB) is based on the monthly price set for each credit unit, that is, 16 dollars. In this sense, the total of the credit units must be added and multiplied by 5, which are the months corresponding to the academic semester.
The semesters in an undergraduate degree can have between 24 and 35 credit units, so the total price of the semester ranges from 1,920 to 2,800 dollars.
According to the taxonomy of the courses, a surcharge could apply to the cost, although the university also offers discounts and scholarships for some students. For the next academic period, UCAB Guayana students will have a 20% discount on the total cost of the semester and Letters and Education students will have a 30% discount on the semester, this does not alter the payment of the registration.
In 2022, the price of a credit unit was 14 dollars, so the semesters cost between 1,680 and 2,450.
UCAB has a campus in Montalbán in the city of Caracas and an extension in Ciudad Guayana, Bolívar state. Currently, this university offers 17 undergraduate programs in different fields of knowledge and is considered one of the best in the country.
-Universidad Metropolitana
The Metropolitan University divides its academic training into quarters and prices are determined based on the number of subjects enrolled.
For the next academic period, students will have a minimum limit of two and a maximum of six subjects to enroll in. Each subject has a fixed cost of $400, although discounts apply.
The university's official website indicates that if the student enrolls in two subjects, they will be assigned a discount of $100, so the quarter would be $700. Likewise, if the student enrolls in three subjects, they receive a discount of $225, which leaves the quarter at $975.
Universidad Arturo Michelena:
• • I want to point out that these prices do not remain stable over time; the price can fluctuate from one semester to the next, just as quickly.
With the salaries in Venezuela, a UCAB (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello) professional must work 10 years or more to recover the tuition fee.
Imagine spending $30K (approximately) for something as overrated as a college education only to emigrate, and perhaps never practice.

An investment that you must make only in tuition for 5 years minimum, if you want a respected diploma... and then work for at least 10 years to try to at least return what you invested in tuition while you develop your existence... the sleeping, normie and plebeian people do not understand that universities are a scam. and that the only true university education is the one offered by the Elite universities... but people are not prepared for this conversation, most think that by having a degree from a public university and in Latin America they already belong to a higher class. when they do not know that like sheep they have been herded all this time and that they are neither really free nor really capable, they are only dependent on the system.

Thanks for sharing. University education is highly subsidized in Canada. I assume that is the same for Venezuela. It still doesn't make sense for many unless you are pursuing a highly technical or professional career.

It would not make sense to spend 5 to 7 years to obtain a degree..📚 and then after achieving it have to work a decade to recover my invested money!!💵 and that currently the majority of the degrees that you can obtain in Venezuela with some exceptions are not valid or are very difficult to make an equivalence or to allow you to practice abroad!! In other words, you would be a person who fulfilled his dream of being an "Engineer" but you can only practice within your country and in your country the companies are bankrupt🤦🤦 SOCIALISM at its finest...

And the worst of all is that there are young people and sleeping parents attending and paying for universities in Venezuela to obtain degrees of that kind, which are only useful within the country, a country that is in ruins and with a decadent socialist system.

There are many who managed to graduate only to end up leaving their university degree in a box. Validation is not easy and in some places very expensive. In addition, many, no matter how hard they try, cannot stop working to be able to continue studying and validate. It is truly a frustrating situation.
