not quite, boosts are weighted by your trust score, and all new accounts start with 0 trust. so 0 x 1,000 new accounts is still 0.

Still seems trivially easy to make a few accounts, comment a few things on each one for a week, then upvote the meme each Monday for a guaranteed 10,000 sats (isn't this like half the average monthly wage in Venezuela?)

try it

Not worth the effort for me personally, I'm just stating how this could be worth it to someone else. If it's not a big deal, then just continue on the same.. or switch to the best meme picked by favorite/random.

Sounds like you are describing a bot net to gain influence twitter-style. I think what makes this different is the need to commit sats, and to have a lightning node per account for the authentication. Raises the cost of sybil attacks, with the idea that it makes them economically infeasible.

Can't you create accounts with throwaway emails?

How would those accounts acquire sats for upvoting? They would have to have their comments upvoted to get some sats first. Overall it's just harder to gamify, I think.

They would acquire sats from the main account, sending sats to themselves between accounts.

True. Maybe there shouldn't be email logins

Is this about boosts?
I think he mentioned to just create a new account and fund it with sats. Then he can upvote any post with it. No?

reply

my bad, i used boost to refer to an upvote there
