Why is the number 21 so significant?
Satoshi's birthday, 4/5/75, has digits that sum to 21 (5 + 4 + 7 + 5). The date of block #1, 1/9/2009, also sums to 21 (9 + 1 + 2 + 9). The halving happens every 210,000 blocks. Until the 21 million #Bitcoin are exhausted, in 2140.
there will never exist 21 million bitcoins.

Yes but that's like saying that the diameter of the Sun is not 1/108 is distance to the Earth or that the moons diameter is not 1/108 is distance from the Earth.
The numbers are generic and easy to remember the protocol of Bitcoin is based on 21, 000, 000 and there will never be more than this. That's the math.
21 is significant and 2 plus 1 is 3. It's a God number. So is 108. 1+8 is 9
So is 3456 is this is
Length 3 Width 4 Diagonal 5 Area 6
3+4 is 7 7 + 5 is 12 12 + 6 is 18 1 + 8 is 9
  1. Genesis block
  2. Satoshi (based on Sanskrit term for truth which is sat or Satya)
  3. Nakamoto is Japanese for From The Book (Ancient Wisdom)
  4. 21,000,000 million
Here's the Vedas discussing the end times...
ŚrÄ«mad-Bhāgavatam (Bhāgavata Purāį¹‡a) Ā» Canto 1: Creation Ā» CHAPTER THREE ŚB 1.3.20
In the sixteenth incarnation of the Godhead, the Lord [as Bhį¹›gupati] annihilated the administrative class [kį¹£atriyas] twenty-one times, being angry with them because of their rebellion against the brāhmaį¹‡as [the intelligent class].
Purport
The kį¹£atriyas, or the administrative class of men, are expected to rule the planet by the direction of the intelligent class of men, who give direction to the rulers in terms of the standard śāstras, or the books of revealed knowledge. The rulers carry on the administration according to that direction. Whenever there is disobedience on the part of the kį¹£atriyas, or the administrative class, against the orders of the learned and intelligent brāhmaį¹‡as, the administrators are removed by force from the posts, and arrangement is made for better administration.
