Beijing, China - In a landmark move, Chinese President Xi Jinping has officially inaugurated the groundbreaking Chancay deep-water port in Peru, a $1.3 billion infrastructure project under China's Belt and Road Initiative. The new megaport is set to transform trade dynamics between Asia and Latin America, generating an estimated $4.5 billion in annual revenue and creating 8,000 much-needed jobs.
The strategic investment comes amid rising geopolitical tensions, as the project has drawn concerns from Washington over potential military and intelligence uses by China. However, Beijing maintains that the port is purely a commercial venture aimed at bolstering economic ties between the two regions.

Good morning We have been living here in Lima for 7 years and this is the first large-scale work or structure that I have seen inaugurated here, even though I am not from here, I am happy because I understand the economic, social and employment advantage that this event will generate..!!! On the other hand, I cannot help but say that the mega port of Chancay is impressive, but there is a detail: its surroundings and nearby areas do not have the minimum infrastructure, such as roads, hotels, restaurants, etc., to support or provide service to the workers, visitors or tourists who are going to come... Something that the Government will have to speed up and invest in if it wants to take advantage and can be beneficial for everyone!!
