Welcome to the 60th edition of The Daily Zap — A Daily Newspaper (Kind of 🙏). Here, you'll get links to all of the latest news and updates mostly from the last 24 hours, divided in Sections (much similar to pages on a newspaper).
Let's unfold!

~Bitcoin News of the Day

  • These investments represent a notable shift from Goldman Sachs' earlier stance. As recently as 2020, the bank had argued that Bitcoin was “not an asset class” and discouraged clients from investing in it.

Global Trade & ~Econ

  • That together with tariffs on imported goods expected to be unveiled by President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration, led economists to believe that the Federal Reserve was unlikely to cut interest rates four times in 2025 as was projected by policymakers in September.

~Politics_and_Law

  • Ms. Leavitt, 27, will take on one of the most visible jobs in Mr. Trump’s next administration, fielding questions from reporters in the White House briefing room on behalf of a president with an adversarial relationship to the mainstream media. She will be the youngest person ever to assume the role.

~Stacker_Sports News

  • *If you thought a 58-year-old Tyson had a chance to get in the ring and go blow-for-blow with a 27-year-old in his physical prime, albeit one whose only fights have been novelty acts, then you are denying the reality you experience every day. *

~Tech & ~Science

  • Elon Musk has stepped up his ongoing feud with ChatGPT-maker OpenAI with a revived lawsuit against the firm, adding Microsoft as a defendant. Mr Musk, a co-founder of the artificial intelligence (AI) company, accused it and the tech giant of operating a monopoly in an amended legal complaint on Thursday. It follows previous lawsuits accusing the firm of breaching the principles he agreed to when he helped found it in 2015.

~History with Mystery

  • This practice stemmed from observations in Colorado Springs in the early 1900s, where residents with brown-stained teeth, later linked to high fluoride levels, also had lower rates of tooth decay. Over the next several decades, research led by public health researchers confirmed that while excess fluoride caused cosmetic discoloration, lower fluoride concentrations prevented cavities without harmful side effects.

~Entertainment World

  • Stallone sang the praises of the incoming president at the America First Policy Institute Gala held in Palm Beach, comparing him to the titular character in his Oscar-winning film Rocky and Jesus Christ before Trump took to the stage. In publicly coming out as a supporter of Trump, the actor joined a short but growing list of celebrity supporters of the incoming president that includes Kelsey Grammer, Drea de Matteo and Jack Paul, among others. A majority of Hollywood players backed the truncated campaign of his rival, Democrat Kamala Harris. Her campaign relied on several stars as endorsers and entertainment at rallies and enlisted them in the vice president’s ground game in battleground states.

I get the point of that argument about why Tyson lost, but let's not pretend that he wouldn't have destroyed the vast majority of 27 year olds in a fight.

Jake Paul is good. I don’t think he could be competitive in the upper echelon of the pro ranks but he has really dedicated himself to the craft. I am not a fan of arrogant YouTuber kids but have to give credit where it is due. Proof of work.
I wish Tyson had a bit more in the tank as he started off really well but 58 is 58. As for Paul, I would like to see him actually fight a boxer in their prime but he isn’t going to fight a champion or contender so that fight won’t sell.

This comment deserves to be put everywhere.
I think you need to have a look at Paul's accolades. He's a real fighter.
reply
I agree 💯. Who do you consider the best of all time in boxing?
reply
I'm not a huge boxing guy. I watched it with my dad when I was a kid, but I don't have a deeply informed take.
I'd just take the safe Ali pick.
reply
That's my pick too. However I don't mind letting Tyson out of the top 10 GOATs.
reply
I think Tyson has to be ranked pretty high. Nobody else has ever terrified other boxers as much as Tyson.
reply
I think Ali has terrified other boxers more with his speed. Tyson played in the era when a lot of his opponents were slower while had played against many of the fastest of all times. This is the basis of my analysis. Tyson is great but nowhere close to Ali.
reply
I don't think the other elite boxers were scared to get into the ring with Ali. In fact, he backed out of an exhibition match against Wilt Chamberlain after meeting Wilt in person.
reply
He backed out for he didn't wanna end his basketball career. Ali had a heart full of love. That's why he's respected more than any other boxers.
Trump felt empty handed from hollywood before elections but now he's having good people from there. Interesting.
reply
No, Trump has the supercharged Kenedy for his saviour.
reply
Can Kenedy match the strength that Swift and J Lo came with?
reply
I don't think these celebrity endorsement has a huge say in turning voters out for either sides. This was just a bad strategy by Harris Campaign to put more stress on Celebrity endorsements.
reply
Got it. Thanks. It's funny how much US put stress on celebrity endorsements in elections, we don't have such thing in elections, unless some celebrity fights in elections.
reply
Speaking of Sylvester Stallone. I am enjoying the second season of Tulsa King on Prime Video.
reply
I watched Tulsa King. I don't remember the much of it though for I'm not a fan of western dramas. But now when there's too much talk about it, I'm gonna watch part 1 again and part two.
reply
It’s not a western. It’s more of a mob drama with a couple western elements to it.
It’s directed by the same guy who does the Yellowstone shows so it’s going to have a ranch and some cowboys in it. It’s kind of his thing. Haha
reply
I can't differentiate a lot between them. I actually don't watch a lot of dramas. I'm a bit selective in my watching habits which mostly roam around action comedy, sci-fi or adventure.
The last night we watched 'The Man from OTTO. For me it's the type that I love the most.
However, I liked Tulsa King, just couldn't watch it with good attention to details.
