the problem with infrequent investigations like this is that they are buried deep in the pile of other junk science. the other problem is that inflammation spectrum brings in big business, of which tumor treatment is the biggest in profit margin.  

anyways, the reasonable recommendation for radiation exposure is ALARA (as low as reasonably achieveable).
