ok, i've been watching some tutorials and read a few guides and robotsats looks like the easiest non-kyc option by far.
I plan on doing my first non-kyc buy tomorrow and never looking back, that said, before i do, is there anything you guys think i should be aware of or careful of?
or maybe you have some other favourite non-kyc options that you think are superior/safer/more private etc?
To use Robosats you need to deposit a bond vía lightning.
IMO, the easiest way to buy BTC non-kyc is the lnp2pbot on telegram.
Sometimes, there are not many offers selling SATs, so you will need to create your own offer.
The more payment methods you offer to use, the better.
reply
It depends on where are you located, some countries use more robosats , and others more lnp2pbot, but lnp2pbot tbh is faster, in robosats you can be stuck on a trade for hours.
reply
The easiest is definitely lnp2pbot I rarely use Robosats. I'm my particular case it's also a matter of liquidity.

haven't heard of this, was just looking at youtube and most vids in Spanish. do they have some kind of escrow implementation or anything to prevent from someone not paying or sending the btc?
reply
Most (all?) P2P markets are based on escrow systems, this is no different. Seller must send a hold invoice that settles once he sees the fiat payment. I've never had a dispute but those are solved by a community manager.
There's a link to "Learn" on the website.
reply
Nah, Peach.
Much easier, less trixy UX, no messing about with lightning collateral
reply
They don't have lightning 👎
reply
some kind of collateral is important when doing anon p2p seems like a good idea to me tbh
reply
Peach just uses escrow. Users release the funds to the buyer after completion of payment.
I don't actually know what happens if a seller tries to rug a buyer by not releasing after payment. (Supposedly Peach team reviews the complaint)

I suppose there's little incentive for sellers to try and screw a buyer over, since they can't just walk off with the escrowed funds. As a buyer though, I'd be hesitant to use any form of payment that can't easily be proven after the fact.
reply
im just looking at some videos on it now.
i might try all methods and do a little review on how it went
reply
Peach is much easier, but robosats has much better prices!

Robosats is definitely at the top of the top 3, I would say, but in my opinion something to keep in mind is your payment method when making your Ehem purchase. You do nothing by using Robosats, via Tor, totally anonymous and then with your bank account or PayPal account, that is, making the payment transaction with a method that has KYC. I think it is best to use Monero for these operations.
PS: Another exchange site without KYC that I find very good and easy to use is LNP2PBOT
reply
robosats doesnt support monero does it? to start at least , ill just use revolut with the logic that it's a step better than full kyc buys on binance etc
reply
You can use any payment method you want but the counterparty has to take your offer.
You can pay with seashells if you can find someone to take the other side of your trade.
reply
i hear whomp beads are making a come back
reply
If that’s what people are willing to exchange for fresh sats, then I’m here for it.
reply
There are in fact some offers on Robosats that accept Monero as payment.
reply
robosats is the best. make sure to never let your kyc corn touch your non-kyc 🤙
reply
I have tried Robosats and Bisq. Robosats has fewer offers in my native currency. Bisq had more, although it’s more of a process to install and set up. Check out kycnot.me and browse a few of the options there.
reply
Yes, RoboSats is the best for a few reasons.
  1. Tor Native: The entire exchange runs in the Tor browser so there’s no special software to download and install.
  2. Decentralized coordinators: When RoboSats first began, it was coordinated by RoboSats. Now there are multiple coordinators so it’s much more resilient to being taken down.
  3. Single-use identities: Similar to bitcoin addresses, Robosats identities (robots) are meant to be used only once and then disposed of. This protects your privacy because no 2 trades are ever done by the same identity.
  4. Any Payment Method: There are a number of preset payment methods but you can also add your own and the counterparty decides if they want to trade with you. You can pay with Pokémon cards by mail if the counterparty is willing to trade with you.
  5. Amazon gift cards: One of the most powerful features of RoboSats is the ability to pay with Amazon gift cards. This is particularly powerful because you can buy them with cash so you have an electronic payment method that’s not attached to your identity.
  6. Self Destruct: After you’ve completed your trade, you can click a single button to reset the Tor browser’s history and your entire robot garage will be wiped clean without a trace.
RoboSats is the best there is.

Any idea if an Amazon gift card purchased with cash be spent in a currency other than that which they were purchased? There’s usually plenty of US orders on Robosats but other currencies are often lacking.
reply
Amazon gift cards are country specific. It’s not even currency specific so if you buy an Amazon card from France 🇫🇷, then you have to use it in France. You can’t use it across the entire Eurozone.
I tried with an Amazon UK 🇬🇧 gift card but I’m not sure enough people use Amazon in the UK because I wasn’t able to find a buyer even with an 11% premium.

Thanks. I've been wondering this also.

Glad I could help

usually, for EU, amazon Germany has the biggest selection of items, so even if you live in Italy, Spain or even Poland, it still makes sense to get the amazon.de gift card and you still get the item delivered within the eurozone.
only downside for people with prime memberships as you wont get the prime eligible free delivery on domestic orders. i think that's a fairly minor inconvenience though
reply
That’s really good to know and makes total sense since Germany is the economic powerhouse of Europe.

No one yet mentioned vexl yet.
You leverage your networks network to find bitcoiners. It's the only way I P2P trade. If I was in a real hurry, I would use hodlhodl.

Any questions, ask here, or on the robosats telegram channel (https://t.me/robosats, supposedly deprecated, but still fairly active) or the simplex chat (see the link pinned in the telegram group.
People are very helpful.

Just make sure you have a few different LN wallets. I think the hold invoice doesn't work for all LN wallets. It works with Blixt, Zeus and Phoenix if I remember correctly.
reply
Since I started my journey in bitcoin I have bought SAT through the p2p Telegram bot. It is truly a safe way and without KYC.I'll give you the link anyway

RoboSats is a good option.
What fiat payment option are you going to use?
This may influence what service is best for buy BTC
reply
probably revolut or wise to make it as easy as possible

robosats has much better prices!!!

easiest way to buy non-kyc btc is via bitcoin mat, if there is one around you
reply
there is one crypto atm in my nearest city, I used it with litecoin i believe, just because i wanted to test it out. bitcoin was onchain only.
it wasn't non-kyc though and the fees were quite high, would be a no-brainer without the kyc tho
reply
bitcoin mat = btc atm

Robosats is really great. I've had nothing but smooth experiences with it.
