I could not resist getting these 4 brilliant minds together to discuss all things Bitcoin, Mining, Energy, and Methane Mitigation.
We discuss a series of important topics, but we highly focus on the potential for Bitcoin mining to have a positive impact on the environment. We covered a few conclusions that I came to recently which are:
My conclusion:
Bitcoin mining can do a lot of good for the environment
It has the potential to help enhance renewable operations and economics
It can reduce greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas operations
It can also reduce emissions from landfills, wastewater treatment, and agriculture
It can recycle heat to be used for greenhouses
Recycled heat can also help reduce the cost of operation for certain energy generation assets
It may be able to go carbon neutral and even maybe carbon negative?
For anyone who wants to understand how Bitcoin mining fixes our relationship with energy and the environment, this roundtable discussion led by @Dennis_Porter_ is the video to watch. Highlight THREAD !๐งต
