A few days ago, I worked with a friend who's a makeup artist to create this production for both of our portfolios. She’d have a new makeup look in hers, and I’d have new beauty-style photos for mine.

I’ll start by showing you two photos I took during the makeup process. I liked them because they show the makeup studio as a pretty professional space.

And this was the first photo I took once the makeup was finished:

After that, she went to change clothes and we started the real photoshoot. To my surprise, she had a lot of experience in photoshoots and knew how to pose really well. I started with a medium shot where you could see the girl’s dress to create context:

I took all the photos with my Canon RP camera and a 24-105mm lens at f/5. For lighting, I used two light sources. The main light was a Speedlite flash with an octabox at a 45-degree angle to the model, and as a secondary light, I used an LED panel directed at the wall to illuminate the background.

I got a little closer:

And then we started taking the real beauty shots, in close-up:

I loved how she knew what to do with her hands and looked gorgeous!

In the end, we were all super happy and excited with the results we got that day. I hope you like them as much as we do!
