A lot of young children have cell phones here in the US too. My daughter has been home schooled her whole life, and I've been teaching her about the dangers of cell phones. She sees other kids her age and younger staring into their phones all the time, and she knows she's better off not having one.

I’m amazed at how your daughter doesn’t own a mobile phone yet. In my country, children who are just 9-10 years old get their own phone. I think it’s way too early but it seems futile to resist the tide
