Let us say you earn in Bitcoin or if you are a long term "Hodl"er of Bitcoin. You can always hold your Bitcoin without cashing out to Fiat. Fiat loses its value over time to inflation and manipulation by the central banks. If you store your wealth in Bitcoin it won't lose its value like Fiat.
