Bitcoin utxos have values stored in 64 bit integers. If you put the mathematically maximum amount of bitcoin (21 million satoshis) in a single utxo, we have about 11 leading bits that will mathematically theoretically always be zero. Why did Satoshi designed it like this? We could have had better divisibility at no cost right now. And if we stray further from the mathematical maximum and use a more realistic values of utxos, we could have had even more.
