My question is: If they are basically cancelling Christmas in Barcelona for religious reasons of foreigners, I assume they are going to eliminate the gay pride parade? Because that offends Muslims much more.
Traditional celebrations have been changing in Catalonia for some time now due to the obsession of do-gooders with multiculturalism. The last Christmas has been particularly controversial. Last year, the Catalan government, led by ERC, avoided wishing Catalans a Merry Christmas and opted to use more neutral and less religious terminology - the “winter solstice”.
The Christmas period has started with much controversy in Barcelona. If a few days ago the decision of the city council to replace the Nativity scene in Plaça Sant Jaume with a giant star was surprising, now another controversy has appeared with the Christmas lights in the city. Specifically in the Raval neighborhood, where more than half of the population is of foreign origin - and a good part of Islamic origin.
Inclusive garlands instead of Christmas lights This year, El Raval will not have the traditional Christmas lights, but rather lighting that avoids religious connotations and takes into account the multicultural nature of the neighbourhood.
Opinion of a Spaniard on X:
I am Spanish, I am not a believer, I am agnostic, but I was raised in a Christian society. I love Christmas: the tree decorations (pagan) also the nativity scenes, the three wise men and all the paraphernalia. They use Muslims as an excuse but we all know who wants to destroy our roots.
Gay pride parades and the "Abecedario" community are an aberration!!!! They should be eliminated from the face of the earth 🌎
