Teaching Bitcoin without a testnet is a bit complicated, especially in low-resource conditions. Until a while ago, with Testnet3 running smoothly, it was pretty easy, to put it one way. But things got complicated when this testnet started having problems, we only have Testnet4 left and Sparrow supports it well but other applications like NUNCHUK don't. So we had to use our heads.
The first thing was to start SPARROW on Testnet4, create a wallet while being offline, then I explain why, although most people know it.
Then it was NUNCHUK's turn, I also started on Testnet, this application doesn't say which one, but if you create a wallet on Testnet, it will be on Testnet3 and you won't be able to receive anything from the Testnet4 faucets. So what I did was create a wallet from the seed phrase of the wallet created on SPARROW, since NUNCHUK doesn't use public keys. But no problem, you create the wallet from the SPARROW seed and boom, done. I did this offline too. Then I DELETED the KEY in NUNCHUK so I had an ONLYWATCH wallet.
You might think that creating the wallets in Sparrow was enough, and you're right if the internet was easier to access and everyone had a laptop. But that's not the case here.
Then I started testing. I received from the Testnet4 faucet. And in another wallet created in NUNCHUK using another SPARROW seed in Testnet4, I received from the Bitcoin I had in the first one, but I signed the transaction in SPARROW while I was offline.
This has made me very happy, since where we live, you know where I'm from, resources are scarce, so we have to use Testnet no matter what. So I'll be able to teach others, at tomorrow's meeting, how to create an Onchain wallet, only Bitcoin. How to make transactions and how to recover your wallets from the seed, and we will also be testing how to sign a transaction offline and transmit with an OnlyWatch wallet.
This solution is practical here since acquiring HARDWARE WALLETS here is complicated, although @Cuba_BTC (the CUBA_BITCOIN community) is already helping with the Jade.
We hope to be able to share with the community how we are doing in these meetings and that more people try the freedom of Bitcoin.
It is important to say that @hugomofn, clarified to me that NUNCHUK has been working with Testnet4 for some time now, something that for me was not the case from the transaction I tried to make and always received the message "network rejected".
Well after the clarification was made, I quickly went to try and indeed in one of the wallets, created some time ago, I received funds from a Testnet4 faucet, then I sent that UTXO to another of the wallets created before and boom, it is already waiting for confirmation.
SO I KEEP SAYING IT, FOR ME A 💎 this application. Thanks to the NUNCHUK development team.
It strikes me that it is not mentioned among the mobile wallets on the Estudio Bitcoin website.

Love to hear it, and you're welcome! :)

Hi @hugomofn. I've been testing NUNCHUK, I love it. But I'm stuck on importing a key using XPRV. Could you send me some information related to that topic? Thanks in advance.
reply
It's Keys tab > Add key > Add software key > Recover existing key > Recover key via XPRV

Sorry. It seems I didn't explain myself well. I do understand that process. What I can't figure out is WHAT SHOULD I WRITE IN THE BOX?

Thank you so much for your help. I am currently in the middle of an educational program about Bitcoin and being able to properly understand and learn these concepts helps me a lot in teaching. Also being able to use the full potential of NUNCHUK and teach that potential is a blessing for us here, because as I have already mentioned this application is the Swiss Army Knife of Mobile Wallets.
Thank you again.

You enter the XPRV (which is short for "Extended private key"), encoded in base58 format. It's the same encoding used for XPUB ("Extended public key").
I suggest spending some time on https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ to get a better understanding of keys and encodings. Try generating a few keys. WARNING: Only use the site for learning; don't use it to generate keys for a real wallet!
The XPRV for the master key is labeled "BIP32 root key". XPRV strings have the prefix "xprv".

So what I did was create a wallet from the seed phrase of the wallet created on SPARROW, since NUNCHUK doesn't use public keys
ENG: Trick for Nunchuk: To make a watch-only wallet, you can import the Descriptor QR code from Sparrow. Nunchuk does not recognize the XPUB QR code, but it recognizes the Descriptor. Before confirming the wallet import, you can verify that the Master Fingerprint is the same as the one shown in Sparrow.
Add Wallet (+) > Recover existing wallet > Recover via QR code.

Hey! What version of Nunchuk are you using? Android or iOS?
We've officially switched to testnet4 since a couple of releases ago.

Now that you mention it, I did a test sending from a Testnet4 faucet to one of the wallets created a while ago and it is waiting for confirmation. But from that wallet I have tried several times to send funds that I have in it to another of the wallets created for testing and always the same result "NETWORK REJECTED"
So if it is already working on Testnet4, it is a great blessing for me, because I love this application, because as I already said IF SPARROW IS THE SWISS ARMY KNIFE FOR DESKTOP, NUNCHUK IS THE ONE FOR MOBILE.
Also, my ignorance about the fact that it was already working on Testnet4, allowed me to learn and test something that I had been trying for some time.

Great project.
What parts were students confused over? What level of bitcoin knowledge did they have, before this training?
reply
In this case, it is a basic course based on the experience of El Salvador "My First Bitcoin". The students know that Bitcoin exists and want to learn. Some have knowledge of "cryptocurrencies", mainly shitcoins. This time, we have to learn about onchain wallets. To do the practices, we will use Testnet4, which is the one that is working. It would be creating a wallet, making transactions, deleting the wallet and restoring from the seed. Very briefly, they will see the use of a transaction using an OnlyWatch wallet and the offline signature.

Hola!

Gracias a Dios no me toca esa parte. Vivo fuera de la isla grande, así que por esa parte estamos salvados. Los otros si están en peores condiciones. La comunidad Bitcoin acá está luchando por educar y adoptar.
