A few weeks before the end of November and the beginning of December, like every week, I'm going to stock up on groceries (since I work on my own like any immigrant in a country that is not their own) and on my way to the city center in Lima, Peru, I walked through the avenues crowded with people, Christmas decorations, offers and a whole lot more. As I passed through those places I saw how people rushed to buy without measure, spending without any kind of conscience, which led me to ask myself: To what point have large industries and commerce led us to become beings without conscience? How much damage have we done to the planet with endless consumerism? And you, friend of SN, have you ever been aware of the atrocious consumerism that exists? Tell me, it will be a pleasure to read other experiences.

I remember hearing on a podcast a long time ago that "we live in a society based on consumption" and without realizing it, this is part of the rat race 🐀 designed and imposed by the State. It is no coincidence that every two or three months there are different reasons that lead to excessive consumption, some examples are Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, Carnivals, Summer Vacations, Halloween, Black Friday and others.
I would like to highlight that it would have been interesting to see photos of all that madness that you mention having seen on the streets of the city

Certainly, before I woke up from the fallacy of fiduciary money and the system that always tries to keep us asleep, I also fell into that roulette and it seemed the most normal thing in the world to me.

Yes, of course I am aware of today's consumerism, it is sometimes terrifying, so I am grateful to have forged a mentality based on saving and investing.

I am very happy for you, the problem is that not everyone is aware of it, what made you realize it my friend?
