Thanks for posting this. This is how it should be done.
Some of the new stackers get offended and just feed the trollers or pretenders and fall victim to or victimise someone. But either way isn't correct.
The best solution is to keep providing value and ignore everything else.
it's a good idea to have a short post like this every so often, as more people sign up, similar to the telegram's repeating posts of "beware of scammers!" in support channels.

beware of scammers
Are there scammers on SN as well?

oh wow, i skimmed over that one! what was the scammer's mother teaching him...

no, that's a neat part of SN. SN parasites still hurt, but not in the monetary energy. i had a friend who called people like that "zompires" (zombie-vampires)

These words or phrases, damn!
I'm not American nir English, so I enjoy them but I also feel that they may seem funny but they may hurt.
Because you also used the word parasites, can you precisely define who do you think is a parasite on SN?
reply
the fundamental definition is that the parasite cannot survive without a host. so for example, when i was posting mining rewards under a bot's mining rewards post in the saloon. i wondered if i am being parasitic, but the bot disappeared for a few days, and i kept posting in the saloon, getting some sats anyway.
parasitism goes deep - this is not only about sats, but about people's psychic energies being wasted on meaningless activities that do not add value.
"zompires" is a pretty fun term, i like it. shakespeare created many new words, why can't we use our imagination to make some too.

Okay now I understand your Saloon posts haha
reply
Yeah, I too like the word, pretty good.
Bots are definitely the parasites but do you recognise some of the real stackers as parasites here?
reply
oh yea - i can feel it if the post makes me angry, and if most other posts by the user make me angry too.
funny story - someone nice i met away-from-keyboard (AFK) got onto stacker news, and before i knew his SN username, his posts triggered me. however, after i realized who the user is, my attitude shifted, and it took me a while to recognize that i should have trusted my first impression of the online persona.
online persona may vary significantly from from AFK personality.
