There are a number of reasons preventing mass adoption of bitcoin in Africa (and the rest of the world).
If you look at the ways bitcoin is actually being used in Africa, you'll find most of them are related to ways to earn money. Lack of significant earnings is why the poor are poor, and why even being educated about bitcoin doesn't change much of everything without also the opportunity to earn.
